The cargo agent organises and manages storage as well as the physical handling of goods in the warehouse, from arrival through to departure. The role involves shift work. Cargo agents work in warehouses inside the freight area, where effective handling of goods is essential to keeping transport operations running smoothly.

Course objectives

  • Understand the role and duties of a cargo agent.
  • Manage receipt, registration, dispatch and tracking of goods.
  • Know the regulations governing cargo transport (customs, security, transport documents).
  • Use cargo management software and IT tools.
